The owner of a 1984 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet designed by the legendary Pininfarina was having corrosion problems and wanted to restore the car while eliminating future rust issues. A master mechanic performed the overhaul on the mid-rear engine of the convertible. Restoration continued for about 10 months using Cortec® products as follows:
- Loose rust was removed with EcoAir® VpCI®-423.
- All surfaces were cleaned with Bull Frog® Cleaner/Degreaser.
- Remaining rust was converted to a hydrophobic passive layer using Bull Frog® Rustorer.
- Exposed metal surfaces were sealed with Bull Frog® Rust Blocker.
- EcoAir® VpCI®-377 Corrosion Preventative was applied to all other components.
- Electronics were cleaned with Bull Frog® Electronic Cleaner.
- Bull Frog® Lubricant with Rust Blocker was used to help squeaky, sticky hinges, nuts, and bolts move freely.
- The engine underbody was painted with VpCI®-386 in Ferrari Rosso Red to restore it to show room quality.
The owner was very happy with the restoration and looked forward to many years without corrosion as a result.
